Toplumsal beklentilerin getirdiği “olması gerekenler” sözleri ile hem kendi içimizde hem de çevrede birçok şeyi ötekileştirdiğimize inanıyorum. Bu ötekileştirmelerden biri de psikolojik süreçlerimize dair. Çok güldüğümüz anılar biriktirme ihtiyacı, sağlıklı ve çok verimli gün içerikleri bize mutluluk dışında hisler içerisinde olduğumuz anların “güzel” olmadığı fikrini aşılarken; arşivimizde, sözgelimi “kötü” çıktığımız fotoğrafları saklama ihtimalimizi de elimizden alıyor.

Bu yüzden; ne içimdeki savaşı abartarak ne de dışlayarak en doğal şekliyle kendimle karşılaştığım anları çiziyorum. Bu çizimlerin; duygulanımların gösterilmesine, formların sürreal aktarımına veya duygusal olarak bir bağ kurulmaya ihtiyaçları yok. Sadece onca resmin arasında yalnızca kendi oluşları ile durmaları; önce ben, sonra da toplum tarafından kabul görmeleri gerekiyor.

Yaşanan süreçleri hiçbir şekilde şiirselleştirmiyorum. Sadece “tüketici” süreç geçtikten sonra, yaşananlara bir tanık olarak; izleyiciyi, kişinin temel sorununun kendisi olduğu bu süreci anlamaya davet ediyorum.

I believe that societal expectations, accompanied by the notion of "what should be," lead us to marginalize many things both within ourselves and in our surroundings. One of these marginalizations is related to our psychological processes. The need to accumulate memories of moments when we laughed a lot challenges the idea that moments in which we experience feelings other than happiness are not "beautiful." Moreover, it takes away the possibility of preserving, for example, photographs in which we may appear "bad" in our archives.

Therefore, I draw the moments of encountering myself in the most natural way possible, without exaggerating the inner battle or excluding any aspect. These drawings do not require the depiction of emotions, surreal rendering of forms, or the establishment of an emotional connection. They simply need to exist among all the other images, standing solely with their own being, awaiting acceptance first from myself and then from society.

I do not romanticize the experiences in any way. Only after going through the "consumer" process, I invite the viewer to understand this process where the individual's fundamental problem is themselves, as a witness to what has happened.
